Depop App Review - Sunny & Emily

Depop is a popular platform for sellers to resell their clothes and for small creators to share their creations, such as homemade jewelry. This app is regularly used by teenagers and young adults as it is where you would mostly find trendy clothes for cheaper prices. It is mostly used by teenagers because of the app's ability to recommend unique and stylish items, and many have also taken up the idea to resell their old clothes for some disposable income. It has become a widely used platform due to its flexibility of having the users decide the price, what they want to sell, when do they want to sell it, and offer a chat feature for the sellers to further communicate the price to the buyers.

When you first open the app, there is a style edit where you find items similar to things that you have liked or past purchases. It takes you to the homepage, where the algorithm recommends styles and items that the user might like based on their preferences. From there, the user can further go to the search page to search for particular items, and the icon in the middle also allows users to set up their own shop easily and sell their used items. Then, the direct messaging feature allows the user to communicate with buyers and sellers.

Although this is useful sometimes, it is difficult to navigate the app. In order to find items that you would like and to your size, you would need to scroll for a long time to get your algorithm to your liking. The app layout is unorganized, making it difficult for the users to find items. There are brand names and columns for certain pieces of clothing to purchase, however, it is very rare to find a good item of your size at a great price.

  1. Sounds like a trendy and young-users-friendly app! Seems like this app needs improvement on navigating and finding where to do what, but the purpose it is serving is very modern and considerate.
