Kraft Mac n Cheese

This bowl of Kraft original macaroni and cheese dinner served as my lunch today. Despite the fact that I prepared it myself, this dish was still delicious. The combination of cheese with paprika was irresistible, as was the warm creamy fragrance.

I'm definitely biased for Kraft mac and cheese, as it's a childhood favorite of mine. I remember my mom would make a pot full for me and one of my good friends several times over the years (he always finished much faster than me, and we joked that he didn't eat the food--he drank it).

From a practicality perspective, this is a very convenient product. It took less than 10 minutes to make with no complicated cooking action required, and was more than enough for a meal. This certainly contributed to its popularity during World War II, when milk and dairy products were being rationed and there was an increased reliance on meals without meat. The long shelf-life was also attractive. Note that it does contain wheat and milk, and has relatively high sodium and carb content.
